Since the day we arrived in Tauranga in 2020, we’ve fallen in love with this city: its people, its pace, and its beautiful surroundings. But one thing was missing for us, the flavours of our hometown Rome. The food we grew up with, the food our nonnas made with care, patience, and love.
That’s how Cacio & Pepe was born. Named after one of Rome’s most beloved pasta dishes, Cacio (cheese) and Pepe (black pepper) our name also tells our personal story.
Daniela, my wife, is the pepper: vibrant, bold, and full of spice. And me, Daniele, the cheese: rich, comforting, and something I can’t live without.
We decided to share what we know best: fresh, homemade pasta made with authentic Italian ingredients, and Roman-style pizzas that are simple, traditional, and bursting with flavour. Everything is crafted by hand, just the way our nonnas taught us.
Our dream is simple, to bring the original flavours of Rome to New Zealand, served with generosity, authenticity & love.
